The techniques of sparkling winemaking did not originate with the Benedictine monk Dom Pérignon, nor was the first purposely sparkling wine produced in the region of Champagne. Regardless, through centuries of refinement Champagne has become the world’s leading sparkling wine and the vinous embodiment of luxury and celebration.
What causes Champagne to be influenced by the Atlantic, given that how far it is from the coast?
Hi Afshin, this is an interesting question. You might get a better response if you post it in the discussion forums since more people will see it there.
Thank you Jonathan, I figured it out the question was tricky in first place, myself! But now, I know it for sure that was a misleading question.
Hi Afshin. This isn't like port where houses all do the same thing. There are no official declarations where houses can or cannot make a vintage champagne. There are some houses that make a vintage wine every vintage baring any real catastrophes. The Special Club acts a bit differently, and will collectively decide upon which vintages to release wines from.
The answer to your question lies not in a list for you to memorize, but in the journey.
