2023 Year in Review

In the last GuildSomm podcast episode of 2023, Master Sommeliers  and  address myriad topics related to the past year, from the state of hard seltzer to how to make an interesting wine list for 2024.

Jonathan lives and works in New York City. As an educator for GuildSomm, he maintains the Wine Law Compendium and teaches on various subjects. Previously, Jonathan worked as a sommelier at The Modern. Chris is based in Seattle and is GuildSomm's director of education and podcast host. He spent years working in restaurants across the country and has spearheaded GuildSomm's seminars since 2017.

Jonathan Eichholz

Jonathan is an educator at GuildSomm, where he teaches classes, manages the Wine Law Compendium, and fact-checks all content. He has worked as a sommelier at esteemed New York City restaurants including Aquavit and The Modern. Jonathan won the Best Young Sommelier in America competition in 2019, then placed second in the Best Young Sommelier in the World competition. He became a Master Sommelier in 2023. Jonathan lives in New York City.

Christopher Tanghe

Chris is the director of education at GuildSomm. He teaches in-person seminars and webinars on a range of topics and hosts the popular GuildSomm podcast. Chris went to the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, then worked at restaurants across the US. In Seattle, where he now lives, Chris was a sommelier at restaurants including Canlis and RN74 Seattle. He later managed portfolio selections and sales teams for Vinum Wine Importing. Chris has been a Master Sommelier since 2013 and part of the GuildSomm team since 2017.
